To initiate an “in vitro” fertilization treatment can be an experience that meses into couple’s anxiety or stress during the process. We intend that the couples who depend on us, know we share their compromise on conceiving a baby.

Our emotional accompaniments consist on three stages:

1. Interview with our psychologist, previously to begin the “in vitro” fertilization process.

This interview is developed with the interested couple, or in an individualized way, if there is no partner. This interview is obligatory when beginning the “in vitro” fertilization process, because it is important to know some emotional and psychological aspects, which are fundamental to the couple’s welfare and will help obtaining a better result of the treatment.

In this session, we provide information about the emotional and psychological management of the couple’s infertility and the treatment they are about to start. Also, we review the main actual stress factors, in order to provide control and adjustment strategies during this stage.

2. Group sessions for women.

In this session we provide information to women regarding the development of the treatment and its process, where they must assist and what to expect among the different stages. A step by step description about where they must assist, when and which information they will be receiving during each stage helps maintaining a control sensation and reduces anxiety. We also offer suggestions about how to carry through the treatment and the 14 days post-treatment until the result of it. This session includes anxiety management exercises.

3. Post-Treatment Session.

We provide this session after knowing the treatment’s result, because we consider fundamental the accompaniment with the couples if the treatment it’s not successful, even when it is and when is considered an emotional counseling in order to help them with the baby adaptation and the new step whatever it is.
